Green Out
While wearing green isn’t required, it’s a great way to embrace a golf-centered event! Plus, Saturday at the Waste Management Open is the official “Green Out” day. For every person wearing green, the event donates to a non-profit organization. So, by rocking green, you’re not just on-theme, you’re supporting good causes too!
Sneakers
An easy way to add a pop of color (and stay comfortable while walking the course) is with fun sneakers. Choose ones with green accents to stay on-theme, or go bold with a statement sneaker. Here are a few of my favorite picks that combine comfort and style:
Not only do sneakers keep your feet happy for a long day on your feet, but they also add a sporty, casual vibe to any outfit.
Hats
Another way to elevate your outfit is with a hat! Waste Management Open branded hats are a no brainer. You can also opt for a classic straw hat or a simple baseball cap. Hats aren’t just stylish, they’re practical too, helping keep your face out of the Arizona sun (fingers crossed for sunny skies!). Here are a few ideas I love:

What I Wore Last Year
When I attended the Waste Management Open last year, the weather was unusually cold and rainy. We saw plenty of people in sundresses and summery clothes, but we opted for warmer outfits to stay comfortable. I ended up wearing a green puffer coat to stick with the “Green Out” theme.
It is worth checking the weather forecast before you plan your outfit, but in typical years, sunny and warm is the norm. Hoping for better weather this year!
Pro Tips for the Waste Management Open
- Layers are key: Morning and evening temps can be cooler, so bring a light jacket or cardigan!
- Comfort first: You’ll likely be walking a lot, so opt for comfortable shoes.
- Sun protection: Don’t forget sunglasses and sunscreen, you’ll thank yourself later!
- Small bags: Be sure to review the bag policy prior to picking your handbag. Currently, the event website indicates a maximum bag size of 4.5” x 6.5” for non-clear bags, and 6” x 6” x 6” for clear bags.
