Where to Stay in Bali: Ubud, Uluwatu, Canggu and Seminyak

Review of where we stayed while on vacation in Bali!

There are so many great places to stay in Bali. Here are my thoughts on the places we stayed in Ubud, Uluwatu, Canggu and Seminyak.

Ubud – Ketut’s Place Villas Ubud

We stayed at Ketut’s Place Villas at the start of our trip. This was our favorite accommodation of the entire vacation! The rooms were spacious and had a nice balcony where you could have breakfast overlooking the jungle. Be sure to get the room deal including breakfast, it was amazing! The pool was well maintained and had a little cafe where you could order drinks and food. The front desk staff were incredible and helped us book transportation and excursions. The location is also perfect! They are a quick 5 minute scooter to downtown Ubud, which is filled with shops, restaurants, and activities.

Ketut’s Place Villas has rooms on Airbnb, and also through their website. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are going to Ubud, as it was one of our favorites!

Uluwatu – Mule Malu

We stayed in a small boutique hotel in Uluwatu named Mule Malu. They had modest rooms, good AC and a clean outdoor bathroom. The pool was small but had plenty of chairs, a hammock and little daybed. You can technically walk down to Bingin Beach from the hotel, but we found it easier to scooter to some of the bigger beaches nearby.

I recommend if you are looking for a place to catch a little rest and relaxation that isn’t too far from the restaurants and beaches. You can book a stay at Mule Malu directly through their website.

Canggu – The Farm Hostel

We decided to try a hostel during our stay in Bali. We stayed at The Farm Hostel in Bali for 2 nights. Definitely a much different atmosphere compared to our other accommodations. The rooms consisted of 8 bunks with lockers and a shared outdoor bathroom. The facilities were well maintained and the staff were very friendly. It was a very fun environment and we were able to meet other young people traveling in Bali. They even had a few events scheduled before all heading out to some local bars and clubs.

You can book a bunk at The Farm on Hostel World or through their website. I would only recommend this hostel if you are wanting to party and check out the Bali club scene.

Seminyak – The Marriott

Our last stay in Bali was at the Marriott in Seminyak. We chose this place to end our trip with a day and a half of relaxation before we returned home. The hotel was very nice and more what you might expect from a chain hotel. The rooms were very clean and the bathroom didn’t have the smell or bugs that are sometimes found in outdoor bathrooms. However, the reserved beachfront area was underwhelming and felt far from the water. That being said, the location was great and we could walk to the beachfront filled with restaurants and shops. This could be a good place for families visiting Bali, but I might suggest looking elsewhere in Seminyak. There are lots of really fun villas on airbnb that you can check out.

If you are interested in checking out the Seminyak Marriott, book a stay on their website.

In conclusion, these are the places that we stayed on our trip, but there are many more great options to check out. I highly recommend looking at Airbnb as there are places at all price points.
